Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy is effective during heart failure. In CRT, the electrodes are inserted in both, the ventricles of the heart as well as on the right atrium. By coordinating the function of the ventricles through a pacemaker, heart failure can be treated. The biventricular pacemaker then delivers electrical signals to both the ventricles of the heart. This helps in the resynchronization of the ventricles so that it contracts at the same time which helps maximize the amount of blood that's pumped out of the heart.
Heart failure is the state of the heart when it is not pumping blood effectively enough to meet the needs of the body. This condition can happen when the two ventricles of the heart do not beat at the same time. The CRT pacemaker coordinates the timing of the atria and ventricles.
